Fees & Insurance

My fee for individual sessions is $200. I am an out-of-network provider, which means payment is due at the end of each session.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), my services are likely eligible for reimbursement through your out-of-network insurance benefits. Because every insurance plan is different, I encourage you to contact your insurance company before we begin therapy to ask about your out-of-network mental health coverage, including the reimbursement process and the percentage of fees that may be covered.

I will provide you with a superbill or any other documentation your insurance company requires so that you can submit claims for reimbursement. While navigating insurance can sometimes feel complicated, many clients are able to recover a meaningful portion of their therapy fees through their out-of-network benefits.

If you have questions about fees, insurance, or the reimbursement process, I'm happy to discuss them before we begin.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Many people consider therapy when they're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or struggling with relationships or a difficult life event. You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If your emotional well-being is affecting your daily life, therapy can provide support, practical tools, and a path forward.

2. What can I expect during the first session?

Our first meeting is an opportunity to get to know one another. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions you have about the process. I'll also ask about your history so I can better understand your experiences. Together, we'll begin developing a plan that fits your needs. At the end of the session we’ll examine how the fit felt to each of us.

3. How long does therapy usually take?

The answer depends on your goals and the concerns you're bringing to therapy. Some people benefit from short-term, focused treatment, while others choose longer-term therapy for ongoing support and personal growth. We'll regularly review your progress and adjust our work as needed.

4. Do I have to talk about things I'm not ready to discuss?

No. Therapy works best when you feel safe and respected. While meaningful change often involves discussing difficult experiences, we'll move at a pace that feels manageable. You will never be pressured to share more than you're ready to.

5. Can trauma really be treated?

Yes. This is one of the core beliefs that guides my work. Trauma symptoms are treatable, and decades of research support the effectiveness of evidence-based trauma therapies. I've spent more than 20 years helping people find relief from trauma symptoms and build lives that are no longer defined by what happened to them.

6. What types of trauma do you treat?

I work with adults who have experienced many forms of trauma, including sexual assault and abuse, physical assault, childhood trauma, domestic violence, serious accidents, disasters, and other overwhelming or life-threatening experiences. Every person's response to trauma is unique, and treatment is tailored to your individual experience.

7. Is everything I say confidential?

In almost all situations, yes. Your privacy is an essential part of therapy. There are a few legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality, such as situations involving imminent safety concerns or when disclosure is required by law. We'll review these limits during our first appointment so you know exactly what to expect.

8. Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. My entire practice is currently online.

9. How do I get started?

The first step is simply reaching out via the form here on my site. We'll schedule an initial consultation, discuss what you're looking for, and determine whether we're a good fit. If we decide to work together, we'll create a plan designed to help you move toward your goals.

10. Where did you get the pictures on your website?

I’m so glad you asked! I took these photos on a 102-mile hike through the English countryside. It was a long, tough, fascinating path, but incredibly rewarding…a lot like therapy!
