Online Therapy

I'll be honest: I was hesitant about online therapy at first.

For 15 years, I practiced therapy in the same office, sitting across from my clients in person. That was what I knew, and I valued the experience of being in the same room with someone. So when I first began offering therapy online, I wasn't sure how I would feel about it.

It turns out, I love it.

One of the things I've learned over the years—both personally and as a therapist—is that change can be a good thing. Sometimes we hold onto what we're used to simply because it's familiar. But being willing to try something different can open the door to something that works even better.

What I especially love about online therapy is the convenience it offers my clients. There's no driving to an appointment, sitting in traffic, or rearranging your day to get to my office. You can meet with me from the comfort and privacy of your own home or office—or wherever you feel comfortable and have a private space.

For many people, that convenience makes it easier to fit therapy into their lives. And when getting to therapy is easier, it's easier to make therapy a consistent part of your life.

I've come to appreciate that therapy doesn't have to happen in a particular room for meaningful work to happen. What matters most is the connection we build, the conversations we have, and the work we do together.

My entire practice is currently virtual—if you feel like seeing someone in-person is critical to your process I certainly encourage you to trust your gut! If you feel like you’re on the fence, give virtual a shot. A little bit of change can be good!

I may have been hesitant at first, but I'm now a big believer in online therapy. Sometimes a bit of discomfort is exactly what we need.
